Taran quickly finds out that with adventure comes danger when he comes face to face with the great Horned King and his army who want nothing but to destroy all in their path.
A Simple task of finding a pig becomes more of an heroic task. With the help of some new found friends Taran hopes to find Hen Wen before the Horned King does. Together with his new friends Taran learns that heroism is no easy task.

Thoughts: This is the first book in the The Chronicles of Prydain series and I must say that I am not really a fan of this book. The plot sounds intriguing enough but for some reason I found this book to be quite boring. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a middle grade book and that is why I thought it was to juvenile and boring. I may still give the rest of the books in the series a chance in the hopes that they get better.
